Online Registration Process for APTA Certificate, Fees & Documents
The APTA Certificate is a Certificate of Origin issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade in India. It verifies that the commodity intended for export is entirely manufactured or produced in the originating or exporting country. To authenticate the goods, the exporter must submit various documents to the DGFT demonstrating that the goods were made in India.
A Certificate of Origin is necessary for customs clearance in the importing country. If goods are imported without a Certificate of Origin, the customs authorities of the importing country will levy taxes on the goods. The Certificate of Origin is used by the importing country to ensure that the products are duty-free and originate from the country specified in the free trade agreement.
