NGO Darpan is a portal managed and maintained by NITI Aayog and the National Informatics Centre. It serves as a platform connecting government departments with NGOs/VOs. Previously, this portal was under the purview of the Planning Commission, which was replaced by NITI Aayog in January 2015.

The Unique ID generated through registration on the portal is essential for NGOs/VOs seeking government funding and accessing information related to government schemes and policies. This registration is often mandatory for receiving grants from Government Ministries and Departments. The Unique ID is also required for filing forms such as FCRA registration form, Form-10A, and others. Many other government ministries and departments now recognize NGO Darpan Registration.

This portal aids in maintaining data and records of all NGOs/VOs in the state, promoting transparency, efficiency, and accountability, and fostering stronger partnerships between the government and the voluntary sector.

Eligibility for NGO Darpan Registration: Any VO/NGO registered as a trust, society, or a private limited nonprofit company under section-25 of the Indian Companies Act, 1956, is eligible for registration under NITI Aayog. Individuals cannot apply for NGO Darpan or NITI Aayog registration.
