What is BIS CRS certification
The BIS compulsory registration scheme (CRS) is introduced by ministry of electronics & information technology MeitY with an objective of putting regulation and improve quality of electronic products in India. Under the CRS scheme over 70 types of electronic products were categoried under BIS registration and all the manufacturer or importer of those products are required to get compulsory registration.
As per the guideliens the certifiate is only issued to the original manufacturers of the product.
Documents required for BIS registration
These are the List of documents that are required to be enclosed during the filing of a BIS application.
- Nomination Letter of AIR (in case of importer)
- Test Report for the product
- Undertaking regarding the product
- ISO Certificate of the manufacturer
- Product manual of the applied devices
- Trademark Certificate if available or required
- Testing documents such as filled CCL and CDF
- Authorized Indian Representative and Affidavit (In case of Foreign Manufacturer)
- Trademark Authorisation Letter, in case the brand, is not owned by the manufacturer
- If the signatory person is other than the head of the manufacturing facility, then submit the Authorisation Letter
